When cooling pure water to a specified temperature (e.g., 2°C), a chiller is typically required. When selecting the equipment, the following factors should be considered:
 
1. Material Compatibility  
   Deionized water has low conductivity and can be corrosive, potentially damaging metal parts over time. Therefore, choose chillers made of corrosion-resistant materials, such as:
    Stainless steel 316L
    PVDF (Polyvinylidene fluoride)
    PE (Polyethylene)
    Avoid copper structures to prevent ion contamination.
 
2. Temperature Control Precision  
   Based on the process requirements, determine whether the chiller needs to:
    Precisely maintain 2°C with high accuracy (±0.1~0.5°C)
    Allow a small fluctuation (e.g., ±1°C) in temperature.
 
3. Equipment Applicability  
   Some laboratory chillers are specifically designed for pure water circulation and feature:
    High-efficiency heat exchange capacity
    Closed-loop systems to prevent external contamination
    Low pollution and low leaching material construction

Purpose of Deionized Water Systems:  
Electronic equipment generates heat during operation, which can damage sensitive electronic components. To prevent this, effective cooling systems are required. However, if cooling water comes into direct contact with electronic equipment, ions in the water could cause short circuits, threatening the safety of the equipment. Therefore, maintaining an ion-free cooling water loop is a key challenge.
